Food is my thing. I am not really worried about when he walks or talks or if he can read at some obscenely young age. I am assuming that by college, his wedding day the latest, these skills would have been mastered. I want my kid to love good, healthy food. I am jealous of those people who say things like, “He was eating Chicken Tikka Masala before he turned one.” and “My Timmy was eating kale at 6 months.” Needless to say, Rowan does not eat Chicken Tikka Masala, but we are making progress though slowly. He is addicted to Cheerios like it’s crack (fail), but he does like grapes and kale chips (win!). So this morning in my attempt to get Rowan to love blueberries (he does not), I surrounded them on a plate with bits of buttered toast dusted in cinnamon. He ate one, rolled it around his mouth a bit and then spit it out. But he let it enter his mouth! Success! He must have ingested at least one antioxidant!

Okay, I need to try making these kale chips everyone is talking about. Crossing my fingers that Dashiell likes them too.
Also, re: Cheerios… are they really bad? I mean they sell them at whole foods? We are addicted over here too.
Oh, I don't think Cheerios are so bad. It is just that sometimes I feel my lovely boy would gladly eat them INSTEAD of all of his meals;)
first off, get out of here with that table! Next I am proud to say that my girls love a variety of food but I did find that when I don't pressure them they try more. (as they are getting older one daughter has become more simple while the other continues to be eclectic) with that said we do a lot of "picking" like we go blueberry picking and that is so fun for them to eat right off the tree, same with apples, strawberries, carrots and tomatoes (although for some reason they aren't down with tomatoes anymore). Anyway that's my big mouthful for you.
thanks! I love the idea of going "picking" When Rowan is old enough, I will be taking him to pick fruits and veggies. Great idea!
