maple nut granola for friends

I made granola this weekend for our lovely neighbors who have given us eggs from their back garden chickens. Granola is so easy to make, and I think it tastes so much better than any store bought cereal. This recipe is inspired by fall using maple syrup to give it it’s sweetness.

I made this simple printable, so you can give this as a little gift.

Maple Nut Granola

4 cups of old fashioned oats
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup raisins

Fall leaf printable here.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, seeds, coconut, wheat germ, cinnamon, and salt. In a small bowl, mix together maple syrup and vanilla. Pour maple syrup/vanilla mixture over oats mixture and mix until well coated.

Spread out in a layer on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes stirring about half way through. Oven times may vary so keep on it since it will burn. Take out of the oven and let completely cool. Stir in raisins.

Store in a pretty, airtight container, tie up with a fall leaf label. Give it to a friend.
