The Little Monster Blog

diy

we tried this: indoor snowman

The weather took a dip this week. It is FREEEZING here. To put it mildly, I am NOT a fan. It is especially hard with a toddler since the ever so important option of getting outside is not longer that pleasant.

Yesterday afternoon at a loss for things to do, I spotted this fun project on Modern Moms, Messy Kids. It is a simple project which entails mixing up shaving cream and corn starch to make a fluffy, white mix for sculpting snowmen.

As her blog title clearly states, it is a messy endeavor. I am still vacuuming bits of cornstarch from corners living room. BUT, Rowan and I had a blast. Rowan had fun shoveling the snow. I have him two boxes and a shovel, and he scooped and tossed the snow from one box to the other (reason for corn starch everywhere). We made a good team too.  I would slowly and seriously sculpt a snowman to perfection, then Rowan would enthusiastically demolish each and every one. Good times.

If you have a good working vacuum cleaner and don’t mind getting a little snowman dust in your house, then this is the project for you. Check it out here.

Teacher Appreciation Card Free Printable. The end of the school year is here and I can't believe it. I am torn between looking forward to the lazy relaxed schedule of summer BUT missing the schedule and order of the school year so that I can get more done!
When I was challenged with my own feelings while parenting, I started creating activities that could help kids and parents open up about their emotions. It was so therapeutic and helpful, so I put my feelings activities together into a book. I created the book that I wanted for my own parenting, and I am so thrilled to share it with you.
Vanilla Blueberry Yogurt Pops. I made this recipe this week after posting it in my newsletter and it was so fresh and yummy, so sharing it here! I used to make these yogurt pops all of the time for my son and he would eat them for breakfast. If blueberries are not in season use frozen wild blueberries or whatever frozen fruit you like. They are really easy to make and you can even add some oats if you want to make them even more nutritious for breakfast.
