Last week, Rowan and I had a fun time making a big batch of clay for him to work with. We had quite a bit leftover, and have stored it in the refrigerator waiting for inspiration to hit for our next project. Rowan has been playing with bits of it while I am getting dinner ready. He sits at the counter, and has a go at it with cookie cutters or just rolls it around in his hands, and enjoys the mushy coolness of it all.
This weekend, while Rowan was playing, I started playing with his clay too. I had a lovely time making these little lumpy fishies, and they make great pieces for a fishing game. It is a fun way to practice colors or counting or just to have fun.
What you need
Mold quarter sized pieces of clay into small fish shapes. Slide a small paper clip into the center of each fish so that the tip of the paper clip is exposed. Set aside and let dry overnight.
