Taking a minute each day to devote to how you are feeling can be so helpful when big feelings arise. For kids and their parents it can be really important to pause and identify what is going on when things get emotional. This feelings station is simply made of cardboard and paint and can make finding your feelings little easier and fun. Use it at breakfast or after school to get close with your child where you can talk about what you bother are feeling. It can be an opportunity to tap into any issues of the day.
You can find a video diy on our Instagram reels HERE.

Using old boxes I had laying around, I cut out one large circle and 6 small ones for the faces.

With black marker I created 6 common facial expressions. I think for kids it is interesting to just have the faces without the words. It allows the child to create the label they need for how they are feeling. However, another way to create this station to write the feeling word in the circle as well.
For this station, I used small magnets and glued them to the larger circle then used paper clips for the feeling face. This craft does not have to be this precise. You can forfeit the magnets and just rest the feeling face on the station.

There is a heart in the center of the feeling station. To me, this is a very important component. It is a reminder that each feeling whether a feeling typically labeled as good or bad should be met with love and kindness. So when we talk about feel nervous for example, we place the heart in the spot nervous space spot.
